Simon and Gilly Groom enjoy welcoming bed and breakfast guests to their lovely historic home at Dethick , a tiny unspoilt hamlet comprising just three farms and a church. Many say it's a place where time has stood still, yet it is only 15 minutes from the M1, and 2 miles from Matlock, lying in the buffer zone of the Derwent Valley World Heritage site at Cromford and a short drive to the nearby towns of Bakewell and Ashbourne.

Situated at the gateway to the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District National Park, it's the perfect place to unwind and an ideal touring base. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and many places of historical interest and other popular attractions are close by. Derbyshire is one of the country's most popular destinations for walkers and ramblers, boasting of miles of walking terrain to suit every level or ability. There are wonderful walks directly from the Manor Farmhouse.

The Manor Farmhouse offers its bed and breakfast guests a wide range of facilities and a high standard of comfortable accommodation where visitors can soak up the ambience of this wonderful house. It's relaxed and informal. Huge stone walls, exposed beams and timbers add to the charm and character. Breakfast is served in the original Elizabethan kitchen, using home produce including our own Gloucestershire Old Spots sausages (when available)and the finest local and organic ingredients.
